Default clutch adjustment

how do you adjust the clutch so that it is off the floor on a '89 gt please help me

it depends if you have the stock cable or an adjustable and if you have a stock quadrant or an adjustable. assuming its stock the quadrant has a spring loaded locking paw assembly and the adjust the clutch or "reset" i think you just push the clutch to the floor and sidestep it a couple times. i think they did it like this to make up for when the clutch cable stretches over time. i 'd suggest getting the steeda cable, quadrant kit if side stepping it doesn't reset it.
