intake leak? or something else
I had this same problem before i put the car back on the road from last summer. Only under load it will sometimes hesitate and i get a slight popping sound. When sustaining speed in any gear u can notice it jerk or under acceleration. Also my two f/a gauges show one bank runs so lean that it won't even register while the other bank will usually run normal to slightly lean. I'm getting my motor smoked on friday to see if it's an intake gasket. If it's not a gasket, does anyone have any other suggestions on where i can start to look?

Re: intake leak? or something else
Ok well the smoking took about an hour and it's my lower intake on my passenger side front and rear. Now I just did my head gaskets within 5k miles. Is there any reason that my intake gasket should've blown so fast? Im wondering if i should get my intake milled to match what my heads were? Or if that shouldn't really make a difference with blowing it again?

Re: intake leak? or something else
u have to re torqu them after the motor gets hot.if u ever notice alot of people have oil leaks in the ft or rear of the intake because the intakes on the 302 need to get re torqued after installing new gaskets..thats prolly all that was wrong, unless there was a small tear in the gasket and if finally gave up after heating and cooling a bunch of times...i will bet u a hundred bucks if u put new gaskets on it and drive for a day u will find them only finger tight
