351w build questions
Hello, after extensive research I am in need of the advise of the masters here. I am building a 351w swap assembling the pieces currently. I am on a budget but I also beleive in doing it right. I plan on buying a F4TE salvage yrd block . I have bought a hurricane (vic jr) spyder intake now I need headers advise. I plan on stroking to 393 or 408 using afr 185 heads in a year or so but for now I just need to get rolling.
Will I be ok to buy the 1-3/4 LT's now or get shortys for now. I have a xpipe thatI hope can be modded to fit on it now, also I will be using my alum heads,1.7 rockers and e303 from my locked 302 until i stroke it. I am looking for 500-530rwhp street/strip very drivable beast when all is said and done..build options (future cam) please any and all opinions are welcome..Thanks |

Re: 351w build questions
I just used bbk specific 351 shorty 1 5/8" headers for a fox body and had no problems. If you don't have a h or x pipe, any h or x pipe for the fox body will work with these headers because they are made to relocate the collector to line up with factory fox and aftermarket pipes. if you have anymore questions, pm me and I'll do my best. It's been a few years since i did my swap but I pretty much remember it all.

Re: 351w build questions
Hey thanks!!!! it's a never ending battle. Next is the interior; hopeful to start on it in spring of 2009. The shorty headers didn't cause any problems that i can tell. I have plenty of low end torque and I pull hard until I shift at 6300rpm.
