![]() Hey guys, i have a 86' GT 5.0L 125,000 highway miles, it passed a strict smog test the motor has great compression in all cyclinders, my question is i heard that my 86' has forged or ( nos ready) pistons in it factory and have been told that my motor with as good as shape as it is in every mustang guy i talk to tells me it will handle a 50-100 NOS HP shot reliably ...... is this true ??? and what is more SAFE a WET kit or DRY kit ??

![]() Up until '93, Mustangs had forged pistons which are much more dense(stronger) than the hyperutectic pistons used in '93. I used to spray 125hp on a '93 and never had a problem. Just make sure you retard the timing the right amount, etc. I used a dry system 'cuz with Fuel Injection, the intake is designed to flow air, not fuel. With a carb, the intake flows both.

![]() Yea it can deff handle it i have 129,000 on my 93 with hyper pistons I spray 125 shot wet, i personally wouldent run a dry kit wet makes it alot safer because its adding fuel with the nitrous so the car doesent lean out as easy but be sure to step down to like a autolite 24 spark plug and turn your timing down 2* for every 50 hp shot you run so if you run a 100hp shot knock off 4* of timing i run 10* with 125 shot.
If you havent done it yet step up to at least a 190lb fuel pump |

![]() Well, in case you are still wondering almost a year later....the dry kit is the safest way to start with nitrous. If you are really interested, ask me why and I can go into more detail. Good luck..
