Water Temp guage not working?
My water temp guage never gets up to normal temp anymore. do you think thermo may be stuck partially open? thanks.

Easy, I just fixed the same problem. My Haynes manual helped with this. Basically what it says to do is disconnect your coolant temperature sending unit and put a 10 OHM resistor from the connector to a gound and turn the key on. This should move your temp gauge close to the HOT mark. Next, using a 73 OHM resistor, (I used a 100 OHM because Radio Shack didn't have a 73 OHM) do the same thing and your gauge should read close to the Cold mark.
If your gauge moves to the correct marks with the resistors in, all you have to do is replace your sending unit. Autozone PN: TU25. Or, just spend the $8.00 or so and just put a new sender in it. I hope this helps. |
