Default 400M mustang project progress/update

For those of you who were interested in my project of putting a 400m into a mustang here's a few updates:
-bought a 1985 Mustang LX (4 banger) to put the engine into....man this thing actually gets good gas mileage even with a 3 speed auto trans.
-Started porting the heads, waiting on gaskets for gasket matching
-Found a reputable machine shop at a decent price, will drop off block and heads once porting is done
- decided on a comp cams 280H camshaft...should be right in the RPM range i want, so i bought a cam kit from comp cams.
-i'll hold off on messing with the two quadrajet (750 cfm) carbs i bought.
- i acquired engine gasket kit, valley pan gasket, valve springs, distributor, harmonic balancer and ordered the 400 crankshaft (engine is actually a 351M, but i'm stroking it).

In the mean time, since i had it laying around i put mustang GT suspension in the 'stang....man does it make a difference. I even got some new struts and shocks from ebay for less than $100 for all of it.

Dude, if you're interested, I have a KILLER "recipe" for a 400! I had planned to build this motor for my truck, but have since sold it. On the bright side, I have ALL the particulars for a budget monster 400! Lemme know, I'll post the recipe for ya!

That'd be awesome, NOONE has done it yet (to my knowledge) and how ******* kewl would it be to take the "boat anchor" motor and make it RIP in a Stang!

Yeah sure, i'd be interested in what your recipe was. Hopefully i can get everything together and running in a short time span, but the chances of it being complete to my satisfaction in a "short" time span is unlikely. Probably 6 months to a year i'll be done.

Update: 05/11/05
I obtained an 8.8" rear axle from a junkyard and am in the process of installing 4.10 gears in it and rebuilding the traction-lock carrier.

I'll get some pictures as i go along.

I also have granatelli upper and lower control arms to install when i put the 8.8" in.

I did this build last year it was tough but worth it in the end. Any questions let me know.
