Cool how will a dyno test help me?

i have a 94GT, i do thank everyone of their responce the last time of what kind of oil.
anyway, i feel my GT is a little gutless considering the amount of $$$ gone into it.
i have shorty headers, pro-chamber h-pipe, 2 chamber flowmasters, ram-air, mac pulleys, 3:73's and a superchip. my best time was a shameful 14.27 but my ET was 99.9m/hr. would a dyno tell me where i'm going wrong or what to do, would fine tuning it bring out a bit of those shy ponies out? thanx.

Just my opinion, I don't think it will do you much good right now unless you have a custom chip burned or have a lot of mod’s done to your car like a fuel pressure regulator and cam or heads or other mod’s.

It will tell you your best shift point and where the best rpm range to launch at is.
You might be able to squeeze a few more hp from the timing but it won't be worth the cost. You would be better off spending your money on other performance parts.

Hope this helps.

Umm... I think that time is great for your mods, you just need to bring your 60's down some. Get some tires not a dyno tune.

From what I've seen that time is not all that bad. You might be able to go a little faster if you drive it harder. From my experience you should be running 14.0 flat, give or take a couple of tenths (probably give). I don't know, some one else may have a different opinon, I'll hopefully be runnig a similar combination to you in the spring and I'll see what I run. I hope to be low 14's after gears, pullies, a good tune up and driving the crap out of the car.

The dyno tune would help with shift point determination, but other than that I would for go the dyno $$$ and put my money into more mods.

Good Luck,

Your running around 100mph thats damn good.

I would spend your money on a good set of tires. If you can hook good and pull some 1.8 60's you can hit 13.6-13.7

I agree, nearly 100 mph equates to high 13's with traction. Time for slicks or drag radials.

I agree with everyone that you should spend more money on mods before a dyno tune. But, once you are halfway set with the combo you are going to keep for a while, then go to a dyno! You will find quite a few hidden ponies in you car just by playing with the timing and fuel pressure on the dyno. It is amazing what a good tuner can tell by looking at the dyno curves. Definitely worth the money!
