Thanks Jester.. whenever you get a chance to dig those specs up. I got an email back from cam motion.. and the specs they gave me for a 331 was actually pretty close to the specs of the stage 3 trick flow cam.. I was surprised!! I think they gave me .576/.584 w/ duration at 238/241 and 110 ls. so it almost the same specs.. Oh one more question for you.. what is your compression ratio on the 331(333)?

CR on the 333 is 11.5:1 and the cam specs are almost the same as the trick flow stage III. Lift is up around 585/590 and duration is like 259/257 so the stage III is real close to what Cam motion ground for us.

Sounds like you're on your way to a kickass stroker there bro!

Well my 331 stroker kit is on the way along with a Victor Jr. intake. The Afr 185 heads are also on the way.. and i have decided to go with a cam from comp cams.. xe282hr .565/.574 282/ 290 duration.
so we will see if i can make the 450- 475 hp mark at the flywheel. It should be built and dynoed in a month!!

sounds good man, it should run real strong. altho i will say im runnin gt-40 heads an the "outdated" xcam and am still runnin high 11's, with the factory fuel pump .. so u should be able to hit ur goal.

thats what I was going to say!

Don’t listen to anyone that argues the rod-to-stroke crap. That’s only brought up by 331 owners because they want to justify paying money for their stroker motor when they could have had 16 more cubes for the same money.
331 vs 347 with the same H/C/I, compression, piston weight, etc, the 347 will make more power, across the board, EVERY time

As far as your hp goals go, its not impossible to make a solid 390-400rwhp setup with the right parts on a 347. I’d suggest a pair of Vic Jr’s, a custom cam from Ed Curtis or Jay Allen, and a Holley Systemax or RPM II intake. That should get you there, and with the right suspension and tires, COULD get you some high 10’s NA, but low 11’s should be easy if you can drive the thing.

Good luck,

-Drew
