that translates to a 16.5 according to the analyzer. what was your 60 foot time? did you shift the tranny, or did it do its own thing? remember guys, this is an auto so times are a lot more sonsistent, and doewn't take as much skill.

90 5.0:

10.9 (16.5) is still pretty slow, as you noted.

On a eighth-mile track, launch and shifting are even more critical than ever, and your stock AOD is at a disadvantage. Lack of experience is also a big factor, as we can all tell you (been there, done that).
Unless you're willing to abuse your tranny big-time and risk an expensive replacement, I would suggest getting a shift kit and consider rear gears (4.10) to see better performance.

Thanks for all of your comments. I think I'll take out the platinum+4s amd install some autolites. I will get some 3.73 gears when I get up a little bit of money (want a little bit of gas mileage). How hard is it to replace the ring and pinion? Any suggestions on a rearend rebuild kit maybe?

Don't feel too bad. An old friend of mine couldn't break out of the high 17's in his 92 GT conv. 5-speed. When he did he ran 18's!
