Ya actually i was thinking about a chip. ANyone know anything about the Diablo chip? Im looking for something i can turn on and off, I dont want the crappy gas mileage of a chip all the time. Summit sells a chip i thinks its called Viper or something like that. It has a remote switch to turn it on or off. With the gears, what will 373s do on the highway. Im going to be doing alot of highway driving starting in september. Right now im thinking about a Flowmast American exhaust system.

i have a 3.73 in my car and its about 3000 at 75mph on the highway, so its not that bad, if you think that is too much i would go with at least 3.55's

Well im startn to think the cars not runnin like it should. Heres a problem i ocassionaly have. When the car is warm and i shut it off and then restart it a few minutes later it has a constant poping out the tailpipes. Its only happened about 3 times in the 5 months ive owned the car. It also has what feels like a miss at idle. Fuel pressure is around 30-35 psi. I put the car on a computer scanner, no codes, O2 shows lean. Any ideas?

Your mass air could be going bad, with the popping, put your timing at 14* and use 93 octane, how bad is the popping? mine kind of does it too, when i start it hot, it goes 'blub blub' if your gonna get a chip, get a custom chip, or just get a foxbody ecu.
373 grs arent bad on the higway, but if your like me, you want to cruise at 80 mph, then go with 355's, i have 3.27's, have to wind it out before i spank rice from the lights, but it pulls pretty good for higway gears, you beter believe im getting 373's as soon as i have the cash.

No offence but you sound like a redneck ricer your self. Just because he drove an import doesn't mean he's a ricer. Black smoke means he was running no cats and stock for stock GST runs high 14's. SN95's run 15's...

smokin
It's obvious you guys don't which each colored smoke is. Black smoke is raw fuel, like when a car has a turbo and dumps alot of fuel at WOT. Blue smoke is oil burning, like when your rings are shot. And white smoke means you're burning coolant, like when you blow a head gasket. There is your daily lesson in smoke technology for today class. J/K.It is possible he was sprayin, but he probably wasn't if he could only pass when you got to 4th gear. I've got two friends that have got eclipse's and they both dump black smoke out when they drop the hammer. Hope this helps. Later.

Just an idea Lethal5Oh, but try using the search for some of your ?'s on here. Other forums would be good too. You seem to have alot of topics going in one thread.

First, i know i got alot of topics in one but im thinking they all lead to the main. Second i know my smokes. But when the car is smoking sitting there and accelerating normally im thinking hes got a problem or has it tuned to take some extra boost, which maybe the case. As far as the popping, its constant (when it happens) and the idle drops atleast 150-200 rpms. It stops after i run it through acouple gears.

Check the Mass air.
Had a '93 that we were working on, and it wouldn't get out of it's own way. It would hit 4000 RPM and just bog down. Had terrible pick up, wouldn't get out of it's own way. Felt like it was running at about 100HP. Unplugged the MAF, and it ran in limp mode, but was stronger. Replaced it with another MAF from teh shop, and it tore like hell. Good luck. I was lined up at a light by a Tercel this morning. I just laughed and pulled into McD's. Sometimes you just gotta let the rice boil...

Exhaust and Gears
The gears are a good idea and reading your sig it looks like a free flowing exhaust would do you a world of good.

Free flowing exhaust is the possible next mod. I say possible because i was reading another post (one about a 95 not running right) and it said about the coils getting hot and not wanting to fire, so i figure a good ignition upgrade may help things out. Exhaust is a definite for this summer though.
