When my T5 went out, I bought a super duty T5 from JEGS, it's like $1099 and it has held up awesome.

Well, I got tranny number 3 installed today and it's doing the same f%$king thing as it did last time. It's jumping out of reverse and grinding in 2nd. I know it's not the shifter because we pulled the stop all the way out and it still does it. It feels like it doesn't want to go all the way into reverse when I pull the shifter back. And even when it does go all the way back it feels tight and notchy like something is messed up.

The shop is in Indianapolis Indiana and it's called All Standard Transmission. BEWARE!

well sad to say but i think its time to give up on this guy. apparantly he just doesnt know what to look for thats causing problems. i'd say file a civil suit and start saving money to find new tranny.inform this guy of your intent to file civil suit ...maybe he'll settle and give your money back .but ether way give up on his shop your just killing yourself pulling and installing tranny.as hard as it is to leave the car set just be patient and wait till you can get another trannie. or do some researce and find a shop that knows t5s and how to fix them. this guy just doesn't know what he's doing with these trannys.if another shop can actually fix that transmision than i think yuo will definatly win civil suit and get some labor money. look around in mustang community for somone aruond your area who knows t5s.and god forbid just drive theneon till you can get your trannie done right...well good luck

The tranny was bought through a Ford dealer so they are refunding the money and I'm keeping the tranny. My buddy Mark, a.k.a. stangsrule loaned me his old T5 and it works great. It jumps out of 2nd when you are decelerating, but I try not to use the tranny to slow down anyway so no biggie. Thanks Mark!

Anytime Kev, just sorry I didn't think about it eariler. It was buried on my garage waiting for a re-build so I kind of forgot about it... Anyway, hope it gets you through till you get yours straightened out...

We have a feeling this rebuilt tranny just needs a new set of shift forks stuck in it. If that's all that's wrong with it then I'll have a new tranny for the cost of shift forks

Also, it was a pain pulling the tranny 4 times but I know how to pull a tranny now without a hitch. Check this out...
Tools needed to swap out a T5:
- Floor jack
- 11/16" wrench or socket to remove the MAC Pro Chamber.
- 12mm box end wrench for the driveshaft bolts.
- 7/16" wrench to remove the speedo cable.
- Screwdriver to unhook neutral and reverse sensors.
- 1/2" and 15mm sockets to remove crossmember.
- 5/8" socket to remove the tranny mount.
-Small crescent wrench for removing the O2 sensors.
- 3/8" drive ratchet to pull drain plug.
- 16mm socket for the 4 bolts that holds the tranny to the bell housing.

That's what I have planned as soon as funds permit. I have a few things I need to get first though if I can get the fore mentioned piece of sh!t tranny to work for me.
