Rear end noise - axle bearing?
I hear a humming "wah wah wah" sound coming from the rear end that increases with vehicle speed. After jacking it up and putting it in neutral, I noticed that the driver side rear wheel is hard to turn throughout half of its rotation. The passenger wheel spins easily. Does this sound like an axle bearing problem? How can I verify?

Re: Rear end noise - axle bearing?
Mine did that and it was the pinion bearing. Yours may or may not be that.

Re: Rear end noise - axle bearing?
How do you change the pinion bearing? Is this something I can do myself? I know that messing around with the ring and pinion is something that is often recommended for a shop to do because of tolerances and adjustments.

Re: Rear end noise - axle bearing?
Not for that exactly because i also had them change my gears from 4:10's back to my 3:55's and put new brake pads on while they were at it and fix my drivers side power window. All that came to around 500$
