'89 hatchback secrets
whats the catch to getting the latch to engauge so you dont have to slam the heavy rear hatch???

Well if it's a bad striker you could replace the striker or take you a piece of clear hose from ace hardware and cut it and melt it back together on the old striker and set striker to latch. Have Fun.
