Question Need some NEW Body Panels...where to buy?

I need a new LH (Driver Side) fender and need to know where you guys/gals have bought them from. The FORD original fenders are over $200 and the repro's are $150 from what I have found? Where have you guys/gals bought yours? Did they fit well, match up to body lines..etc

Thanks,

Rick

mustangs unlimited has ford fenders for $200.00 even.

I haven't had any experience with 87-93 fender replacement, but on a 68 stang I used to have had a reproduction fender on it and I could never get it to line up right.

So I would definately spend the little extra cash on the Ford part.

Do you know anyone that works for a Ford dealer? I worked in one over the summer and got Ford parts VERY cheap through the parts dept. I'm willing to guess it would be less than $200 if you had someone that works there buy it for ya. You also wouldn't have to pay for shipping.

good luck

Yeah..I went through that on a 67 I had. I have heard that even the approved repro's don't fit great, so looks like I need to see if anyone I know knows someone that works at a FORD dealer so I can get a orginal..man that's a lot of money for a fender.

Stay away from Cobra Auto Designs. I ordered a glass hatch a week or more before Christmas. Their "7 to 10 days" must mean February or March.

In other words, it has not arrived yet.

My Buddy just took over a Ford Dealership body shop. He says that all the sheetmetal for our Mustangs are already off listing and they cannot be ordered. Of course there are still many new Ford 1/4 panels, doors and fenders out there so apparently the NOS hunt has already begun!

P.S. If someone knows how he could order or get sheetmetal, let me know. This is his first manager job and he always worked on Chevys before he works in Medford MA so he could help out all you Mass Stangers!!

Hey Rick, I forgot to mention, why don't you get a pair of fiberglass fenders and lighten her up even more?

not sure how much those run though, or where to get them for that matter

I thought about that but I have no idea where to get them either, I haven't come across them on the net anywhere yet. A buddy of mine has a friend that owns a body shop and he uses these repro fenders and said they fit everytime no surpirse, he use's them a lot and reccomends them. He can get me one at a really decent price, I may jusy go that route

Late Model Restoration Supply (www.50resto.com) has those parts. They even have the rear quarter panels. The fenders are $150 for your year car. They're the reproduction parts though.

Thanks for the offer but the fenders changed in 91 to a larger opening due to the larger 16" ponies.
