Default cam specs how do you chosethe right cam

if you look in the summit /jegs catalog you will see lots of cams the fall into a specific rpm range that you plan to opperate your car but looking at the specs you see that the duratios are usually close lifts vary and lobe centers can go from 106 to 114 all in the same rpm range. what effect does different lobe seperations have on a cam. headdoctorim sure you have an answer to this.
