Wasaga Beach Horror
Well this is my story of the weekend from hell in Wasaga Beach Ontario. It was a crappy weekend rain and more rain. I wanted to take my stang out for a ride. I packed up the girlfriend and headed to the beach. The girlfriend has never seen the longest fresh water beach in the world.
I turned the corner at beach #1 and was stoped by EPA officers who asked me to pull over and open my hood. I told them I was not going to open anything. I asked about the law and emmision testing as I dont need a test anymore. I moved to an area that doesn't do testing. They told me it doesn't matter. And told me he was going to the next level which was calling in the cops. Ok fine I said maybe I'll get some answers. Well when the 8 cops showed up (less than 2mins) The one cop didn't want to talk about anything except me opening the hood. He started to scream in my face to open the hood. I tried to talk to this cop and all he could do was scream. Next thing I know I'm under arrest for causing a disturbance and obstruct a peace officer. (peace my A**) I did not resist but was taking to the cold wet ground while the cops Laughed about me getting wet. The EPA guys opened the hood of my car an inspected it, without my permission. Then gave me a ticket for not complying to emmisions $380.00. I was then held for 3hours soaking wet in a cold jail cell. When I got out my car had been towed. $275.00 Listen I'm not some punk I'm 35 I drive responsible and I try to abide by the laws. Wasaga Beach is in my opion a police town. If you live in Ontario and drive a custom ride STAY AWAY from WASAGA BEACH. We Have No Rights. I'm going to fight this ticket and criminal charges. Well guys good luck in Ontario. I'm now thinking of selling my ride. Don't need this hassle. Maybe a truck and a boat are in my future. If anyone has info in this matter I would love to hear from you. PEACE

I think if you live in an area where there is no emissions testing there is not much they can do. I would fight it if I were you. it would be like me getting a ticket for driving through Ontario with no front license plate when I'm from Alberta where they aren't required. Power tripping cops suck!!

Holy $hit dude!
I live in Ohio, and we head up to Rice Lake every year for vacation. The O.P.P. always scared the hell out of me, I was afraid of ending up deported to a Turkish prison, and being held hostage because of my radar detector.
Now I am DEFINITELY afraid of the O.P.P. !!! (OPP - Ontario Provincial Police for us Americans) Good Luck, and keep us posted!

Damn man, thats a raw deal.
I for one have been fearing the damn emisson cops like the plague. I won't go to places like Wasaga or T.O due to that. You should be able to fight both the ticket and criminal charges, but I'm not a lawyer. Best of luck on them, and hopefully this one incident doesn't make you sell your Stang. Keep me posted on how you make out with everything, I'd be curious to know.

Hey thanks for your replies.
Yes, I am fighting all three charges, I don't have a lawyer. I'm going to give it a fight on my own. I know two things, the way I was treated was not right, and there is something not right with this stupid emmision law. Peace

They were just trying to get some more money for Dalton's pockets. I hope you get all charges dropped and a letter of apology from everyone present.
