Default TFI questions

Well, I have done extensive searches on the TFI subject to see if that is possibly my problem, but it does not match up completely.

My car completely cuts out once it starts to get warm and then gets worse progressively. The voltmeter stays constant so I don't think it is a ground or 12V source coming loose. The motor DOES NOT DIE, but simply looses total power as if turning off a light switch and then back on a split second later. Could this be ignition related? I have a Crane HI6 box that has only been installed for 5 months, but the test light shows that it is fine.

I have swapped the coil for another just to test and that was not it.

I had the TFI tested at Autozone and it tested good. He got it plenty warm to simulate driving for awhile.

I am stumped.

sounds more like fuel pressure..how is your pump..if it was the TFI then it will do one of 2 things...run lean up top, or car will die and not run till let sit for a while..both have happened to me..the one where it dies and wont start is a very common problem but my car once actally ran real real lean upstairs to the point of fuel starvation cut out..it turned out that the TFI module also controls something with the fuel..never looked into how exaclty becasue when i swapped mine out my car ran like a rapped ape and i didnt care anymore

Fuel pressure looks fine. I can only check it idle with the gauge that is under the hood. I can't test the lean up top part because if it were to cut out like that at WOT or high speeds it would be very hard on the car/drivetrain.

Voltmeter does not fluctuate as stated above. The battery is in the trunk and the 00 gauge welding cable could probably outlast a car fire. Very well mounted and hooked up. Thanks for idea though.

yea i used welding cable on all my trunk installs..works the best..it sure does sound like what happened when my positive terminal was grounding out when my battery was loose in the trunk..other than that im kinda stumped becasue it happes when the car warms up witch usually indicated TFI/fuel pump..yo got me thinking

I am going to switch out my TFI for another one before I go out and buy one. Just to make sure.
