Default t-5 swap...help please

my aod has been having problems lately....symptoms of a dieing aod, aka the slipping into overdrive. i would like to put a t-5 in it...what all do i need? i was told that i don't need a new computer if i am going from a aod to a t-5 but i think i do...the car is a 88 so i would have to get a 87-88 speed density computer for a t-5...thanks for all the help...btw, how much would this swap cost??

If you do swap ECM's, make sure you cut the wire going to pin #30 in the 60 pin ECM connector, otherwise you will fry the new ECM.

Take care,
