Default Weight to power?

Say you have a car with the same Horsepower as another car. But one car weights 300Lb's less then the other. How much faster is the lighter car going to be? Or how much HP will it take for the heavyer car to keep up with the lighter car???

Im trying to figure out horsepower to weight.
Theres probably a lot of factors involved, like drag, gears, and etc.. but im looking for just a estimate. thanks....

not 100% sure but i think it's 100lbs = .1 = 10 hp.

Rough estimate for the needed hp would be 1hp per 6lbs. 100lbs is about .1 in the 1/4.

yeah 6 HP sounds more reasonable than 10.

yeah its all theory though unless you have front to rear ratio

because in reality the heavier car can be faster with the same hp.

why 1/4 mile weight over the rear if the rear is to light or not enough transfer the car slows down.

straight line add a quality areo kit weight say 300lbs and your car might improve overall speed

curvy track a heavier balanced car will complete the track faster than a light unbalanced car.

this basic things are why moving weight from the front is good and from the back not so good.

seats middle ect not much of a problem though.

so you can say how much 300 lbs will effect you.
