Post could 87 octane make it knock?

I have advanced ingnition, plus ads chip, not sure if its my powersteering or what, oil looks good, im running 87 right now could it be the fuel? im not hearing detonation unless i step into it aggressively.

More details: i hear it knocking at idle, not bad as if somethings broke, but you know.....thnx for any help, im gonna put some 93 in tomorrow.

If you advance ignition you have to move to a higher octane fuel.

Most chips require 93 octane.

I only did it for about a week of easy driving, besides the knocking came from my balancer, which is now fixed, so let this topic die off thnx
