Steering Column - Cruise vs non-cruise
Hi,
I need to replace the steering column and wheel on my 89 LX 5.0 because there is a few degrees of play at the wheel. The edges on the shaft are somewhat rounded, allowing the wheel to move a little before it grabs. The column has tilt and cruise, but it looks like the only difference between tilt/cruise columns and tilt only columns would be the slider pins and the bracket they mount on. If that's the only difference I want to just buy a tilt only column (a little cheaper) and move the cruise parts from one to the other. Anyone know if this is a correct assumption? Thanks in advance, Rich D. |
