Default 2 Questions

1) I am in the process of dropping in my new motor into my 95 GT, but the new oil pan (Canton 7 qt) obviously doesn't haven a spot for the low oil level sending unit. I want to leave it out, if I just cut the wire will the idiot light stay on all the time?

2) If I leave out my air pump (thermactor) and all the plumbing will that trip my check engine light? The EGR seems to have a vacuum line running to it, if I cap it will that trip my check engine light?

What have you done?

Can't help you on the EGR but my pan on my 351 I just swapped in did not have a place for the low oil sensor. strapped it up out of the way, no dash lights on at all.

I would imagine like most idiot lights it works by completing a ground.. so if you just leave it hanging it'll never make a ground and light that light.. though it seems like a nice thing to have... you sure you dont wanna just tap that oil pan..

as for the air pump stuff... you'll need to plug the holes in the back of the heads... but on my air pump there's no wires going to it or anything, so there's nothing telling the computer it's there or not... EGR and the Air pump are seperate things... not sure about the EGR vaccum line though... i would think as long as you still had the harness connected to the EGR it wouldnt bring up any lights.. the vacum line is a timed vacum thing anyway it's not allways on
