Default Exhust

I have a stock 88GT. Still has factory exhust on it. Mufflers had been replaced before I got the car, but the pipes are starting to crack around all the connections from years of use. My ? is has anyone ever run the exhust out in front of the rear tires on each side of the vehicle. Right now with the cats on it the mufflers are to far back to do this. Just a goofy ? but gona have to put exhust on it soon. Thanks

personally i think having the pipes come out in front of the back wheels would look bad and be kinda ghetto but thats just me do what you like

well u can get dumps which basically has a 90 degree elbow attached to the rear of the muffler, so gases exit downwards and you eliminate the pipes that go over the axle, more power better sound, look out for cops.

also, spintech makes a side exhaust kit for fox bodies, someone on here got it and said good things about it, requires a little cutting of the body in front of the rear tires i would guess, harder to work under there at times, dont burn yourself

Yah I agree, it would look kinda cheesy if not done right. Plus the noise when driving with the windows down. It was just an idea. Used to have a 74 F100 like that, ended up running it out the back becuase of the noise lol. Well out the back its gona go made mine up today thinking about how noisey it would be. Thanks for the replys.

I plan on running patriot chrome side dumps with heatshield and six louvered glasspack mufflers with no cats, side dumps arent illegal are they? Maybe just in Cali and places like that.
