your car is fully capable of handling 75 horses. What else you need depends on the kit. with 75 horses you should run a step colder plugs and retard the timing 1-2 degrees. The stock injectors will be able to handle it fine along with the stock pump. What kinda kit is it anyway, wet/dry, zex/NOS?

stock E7 heads - Autolite 24 gapped at .035

...start with 10 degrees initial timing to be safe, you might be able to get by with 12 degrees using premium gas.

have fun!

Nope, 10 degrees initial is the stock/factory setting in most cases and advancing it to 12 will only help your car run better when not spraying...

You should still check your timing to see where it's at... and make sure you have 10 to start with. If you're worried about melting down your daily driver, I'd suggest using premium pump gas... although you could probably get by with 87 just fine.

Octane booster could be worth a try, I'm not a real big fan of it, the type available in most parts stores anyhow... just stop by the pump and fill up with a few gallons of premium, maybe?

Can't help ya with setting up a schedule for shooting, LOL... that's gonna have to be up to you

Once a week should be fine, as long as you closely monitor the plugs and the tune... your best off to play with it at the local dragstrip. That way your results are accurately measured... and you can kill the motor after you cross the 1/4 or 1/8 to get a good reading on the plug, and make tuning adjustments accordingly.

Keep a close watch on your bottle pressure, maintaining a minimum of 900 psi is critical in achieving the proper nitrous fuel mixture, as well as your fuel pressure... get a gauge setup where you can see it while your spraying (pillar or cowl, typically). I like to have the nitrous press. gauge and fuel press. gauge right next to each other.

A fuel pressure safety switch (aka hobbs switch) and MSD window switch (critical on a stick car) will also add to the life of your motor while using nitrous oxide.

glad I could help

...just keep a close watch on everything and you should be fine. Do you have a t5 or AOD? Reason I ask, is that you should seriously consider an MSD window switch to shut the flow of nitrous off before the rev-limiter (nitrous+rev-limiter=BANG!) if you use a t5.

A good, "hands-free" way of activating the system is to use an arming switch, WOT switch, and a window switch... this will allow you to arm the system and them when you mash the throttle, the nitrous system only operates within the rpm range specified by the window switch... really easy to use, setup, and saves your head gaskets. Something to look into

take care...

I am runing an AOD...I havent decided between a button or WOT..how do you hook up a WOT switch? the kit im buying coms with...Plate,Selinoids,Bottle,Hose..so I was planning on putting an arming switch on the back of the stereo bracket so its hidden..and maybe a small button on the backl of the steering wheel...how much are those window switches? more than likely im going to buy the kit..not put it on..and wait till I can get my gauges and eveything to be safe..I would rather be slow for a while longer than melt it down...so far heres what I think I NEED
1. Fuel,N2O pressure gauges
2. Air/Fuel Gauge
3. Bottle Warmer
4. Window Switch
5. Purge Kit
6. Remote Bottle Opener

....sound good?...man its gonna take me a year before I can put it on

I'd say you could easily get by without the A/F gauge and remote bottle opener, and window switch (around $85) since you have an AOD. Depending on what your fuel psi is at, you may need to adjust it. Consider adding an adj. fuel press. regulator, btw.....

1. fuel/n20 press. gauges
2. bottle warmer
3. purge kit
4. adj.f.p.reg.

....and then spark plugs, bottle fill, etc.

You hook up a WOT switch the same as a push button (wired inline with the wire running from the solenoids to the arming switch... only difference is that you have to mount a small bracket on the throttle body and align so that it engages correctly and activates the 'noids (check for clicking sound with bottle off and car off, just power up the solenoids).

You could try both push button and WOT to see what you like, but I prefer a hands free operation of the nitrous system... via the WOT switch.

BOTTLE WARMER is a MUST in cold weather. my dumbass shot on a cold day with about 500 PSI in a full bottle and too much timing and a bad fuel pump and it SUCKED!!!!!!!!!!!

make sure you double and triple check your N20 Lines because losing a full bottle of N20 (about 30-40 bucks) because the lines have tiny leaks in them SUCKS ***!!!!

fuel psi gauge is a must too. i spray wet so it can be a lifesaver!

plus if your spraying the '90, don't worry. comes with a strong crank, strong rods and forged pistons. my 91 takes abuse quite well.

haha, speaking of forged, has anyone seen that truck commercial where all the cool stuff is dropped into the tank of molten metal (like a steak, and steel balls)??? yeah, well, thats how i was made too.

start with 10 degrees timing for a 75 shot. Its a good rule of thumb to retard 2 degrees for every 50 more horsepower on the spray. My microswitch in the zex kit was attached to the tps sensor. When the tps hit a certain voltage the kit would kit in. I would assume that would be the same with most switches. It also came with an arming switch though so you could run full throttle without spraying.
