Question 99 V6 problems. Need Help!!

Ok, this is for my brothers girlfriend. It is a 99 V6 auto Vert and has about 80,000 miles. The problem was described to me to be like a fuel starving problem and it is intermintent. He told me he has replaced the fuel filter with no success and I think he also tried some injector cleaner. He has taken it to a shop twice and both time they could not find the problem. He said it will act like it is starving for fuel but is not sure that it is fuel related. Also he sadi it could be fine for a couple thousand miles than start up again. He has pulled no codes (has not tried yet) . Any one else have a idea on or run into this themselves?

Try this...
Turn the key to ON but do not start the car... go to the rear of the car and your should hear a "whine" sound. That is the fuel pump. Make sure you hear that noise.

If you can, put a fuel pressure gauge on the motor. Simplest place is the shrader valve. Make sure she's getting 30-35 psi of fuel.

Next I would try to get the injectors cleaned. It has a lot of miles on it for it being only 4 years old.

Start with the easiest and cheapest things first, the work your way up. Also, trace the problem in the direction of flow (ex: fuel tank-> fuel pump-> fuel filter-> fuel pressure-> fuel rails-> injectors...)
