Default What intake do I have?

About to drop a 5.8 in my 93. It has a Cobra upper and a nameless lower. I thought the lower was a truck intake but have since found out that truck intakes have square ports. My ports are round. FORD is stamped on the intake by the thermostat housing.

yes, the cobra/gt40 has circular staggered ports, whle the truck and stock intake ports are square and oval and are in a straight line.

Does Ford make a GT40 or Cobra lower for the 351? I thought those were only for 302 based motors and that's why most people run the truck lower.

yes ford makes a 5.8 lower manifold that is a gt40 style

i use a truck lower cause it cost $10.00 plus a lot of time grinding it and i made my own box upper

the money went elsewhere.

I belive that it is the same lower that is on the 93-95 lightings as the upper is the same as the 302 version.

So the fact that I have a GT-40 lower is a good thing, right. Lots better than a 351 truck lower, right?
