Which can handle more hp.... Stock AOD or Stock T-5?
I was just curious as to which tranny can handle more torque/hp. I know most of you will say a stock T-5, but the stock AOD suprisingly is holding up pretty well for some people.

it really all depends on how you drive it, if you drive it like a normal person then it will last until the bands or synchros wear out. if you drive it like you stole it they will probably go really quick. every aod (stock) that i have seen hates power, you put a lot of power through them and your done. i have personally seen stock t-5's running in the 10's but i myself have blown up 5 in mostly stock mustangs. NOTHINGS BULLIT PROOF, my brand new tremec only lasted 6000 miles before i was tearing it down
so basically it all comes down to how you drive. and how much power your putting out. |

T-5 all the way. AOD's suck *** unless you get a built one like one from Lentech.

Both suck nd are total crap in stock form!
err, well maybe. I was blowing through stock AOD's every six months (only 2 till I figured it would be cheaper to get a manual)

Some people can break anything you put behind a 13 second motor, some people have finessed a stock high mileage T-5 into the 10's (with a good shifter with positive stops). The T-5 is Okay until you bend a shift fork or have a car that launches violently (Picture the counter shaft and the main shaft flexing away from each other and then crashing back together).
