Talking Trick Flow "Street" vs. Cobra. Which Is Better?

I'm looking to purchase a new intake in the closse future, & wondered which intake I should go for? Trick Flow Street Or Cobra.
They are bolth priced the same.
I really like the Trick Fluw "Street", & herd it was awsome with a power adder.
I want to put a twin turbo on it so keep that in mind.
Thanks

Thumbs down

I do not recommend the Trick Flow Street Intake. I went from the Cobra/GT40 Intake to the Trick Flow and my car slowed at the track.

My recommendation is to get the Cobra and match port it to your heads.

Hope this helps.

Hmm.. that surprises me that you slowed with the Street Heat. You didn't happen to get any dyno numbers to compare with it, did you? How did it affect your MPH from one intake to the other? I'm just curious because I am trying to find a good intake for my application, and I am having a hard time deciding.

I have the trick flow street intake, and i love it. i built my motor all @ one time, heads, cam, intake, etc...and i love it. it pulls nice and hard down low and pulls nice all the way to 5,500 when i shift. I've read that it is a better intake than the cobra is...i would go for it, if i were you. i'm also getting a blower in about 2 months, so i'm sure they will be a good match along with my crane 2031 cam.

Yeah I would've thought the Trick Flow intake would have beat the GT-40/Cobra intake out. Simply on the issue of better cylinder to cylinder airflow?

Ok, here is the deal:

I misread his post, I had the "Track" Heat Intake, a step up from the "Street". However both intakes are very similar.

My car was running the GT40.
ET was 11.70 at 114mph.

The car was never on a dyno with the GT40 intake.

Now, I must clarify that with the GT40 the car pulled strong till 6200, which also was the RPM that I crossed the Finished line at in 3rd Gear (C4 trans).

Anyway, I put a call into Trick FLow and they recommended the "Track" Series. So I ordered it and had the upper and lower match ported to my Street Heat Alum. Heads. So far so good.....that is till I went to the Track.

I clicked off a 11.90 at 111mph, three times in a row. Not to mention the air was very cool with low humidity. This was in April I believe. Anyway, a guy had a mobile Dyno at the Track so I put the car on it and this are the results:

Torque 432
HP 277

Wow that sucks.

As you can see my car ran better with the GT40.

A week later I decided to try the Downs Ford box upper and GT40 lower on the Car. I went to the Track and WOW look what happens:

ET 11.55
MPH 115

Hmmm, now you tell me?
Looks like the Box upper is a keeper.
Also, I have yet to Dyno the motor, but a few calculations will tell you that to drop from 11.90 to 11.55 and gain 4mph, I definitly picked up across the board.

Combo:

75mm TB, 77mm Mass, Lunati Cam, 3900stall, C4, 347ci, 1.7rr, 4.10gears, 30lb inj, 190lb pump.
