Does anyone know what I have to do to get the damn thing to retract? I won't pass the inspection unless I fix them. Please help!! Camaro's have invaded the Auto-x and I can't compete!!

Take the panel off by the seat belt. Or loosen it. And reach in there and there's a metal latch that you can push. When you push it the seat belt should retract. Sorry I can't explain it any better than that...but you'll know what I'm talking about when you get in there.

Angry

If they started squeaking, then gradually went out, about the only thing you can do is replace them, especially if you are going to use them. I wore out the drivers side in my 93GT. Ordered a new assy from ford for about 70.00. bolted right in with a giant torx bolt. The rollers wear out and the belt goes in crooked and hangs up.

Seatbelt? What's a seatbelt? But 89GT's right...although it's hard to explain there's a little latch/lever type thing you can pull to make the belt retract. That is, of course, assuming the retrator still works.
