Smile FLOWMASTERS!! Are there 3 kinds of 40 series 2 chambers??

I installed 2 chamber 40 series flowmasters. And the car sounds way to load inside the car especially when I get to 2000 RPM's. I dont know if Im correct but are there 3 kinds of 40 series? My friend has 2 chamber also with a H-pipe and his sounds nicer and alot lower.

Same h-pipe or is it different? That might have something to do with the interior resonance? As far as I know there is only one j=kind of 40 series 2 chamber mufflers, unless they have a regular and delta flow version?

Nope Just the same H-pipe, but damm that thing is to laod at 2000 rpm's. is there a way to block that resonance even a little bit? does the sound come from mostly the back seats and the trunk area?

Easy resolution...get Mac Flowpaths, and you'll never look back. I have both, and I can't wait till I finish the body and paint on my coupe so I could put the whole Mac system on that one too!! (Avoiding overspray!)

There are two types of 40 Series (2-chamber): Standard and Delta Flow. The Deltas are Flowmaster's "new and improved" design. The scavenge exhaust gases a little better than the old style, so there's a little more torque. The biggest difference, however, is that the Delta Flow's have about 30% less interior resonance than the old style.

The one's I have are delta's. My friend has 2 chamber flowmasters and they are not delta's but they sound better than mine. what's up with that?

Then thats the difference. the delta's have the additonal baffling behind the primary wedge in chamber. I suspect that they improve flow by reduxcing turbulence but the additoinal baffles also change the way the muffler resonates (much like the way you change the the notes on a musical instrument). Course my theory on that is if it makes more power whats the problem. My bro used my old Dr. Gas-X crossover and some of the local yokels joked him about it. To bad for them that it pumped up his mid-range a huge amount compared to the dual system he had before. It took a bit of getting used to but I prefer the sound more and liked the power improvement even better

Yeah I gues I gotta get used to it but someday I will get rid of them. I like the power but not that load inside the car.
