Air induction system.....
Believe this or not, but I used the search button this evening. I was going to ask a question or 2 about the Ram air units and the Cold air intakes..... but after finding all my answers, I still have to ask this...........
Is this the same...http://www.jegs.com/cgi-bin/ncommerc...94&prmenbr=361 as a Cold air Unit???? It looks like a K&N air filter on the original tube....... Is this the same as a Cold Air unit??? But its not in Chrome, thats why I am asking...... plus its alot cheaper than the other units I see out there. I did read that the K$n Air filter and cutting out something (I can't remember what exactly) will do the same as the units. I guess there just for show...... I apologize if the link is inapropriate........ Longball |

Yea, that's a cold air intake..it's in-fender. And that's not a stock tube. That piece probably connects to the MAF via the stock connector. It being plastic makes it better than the chrome ones, even if it is cheaper and less shiny. That is the ONLY cold air intake I would buy. KISS-Keep It Simple Stupid.

Home Depot it. That's what I did. It's ugly but it works...and sure makes for a good conversation piece. Just beware...thin aluminum ducting doesnt like that upper rad hose. I'm waiting for the local parts shop to get their smaller sheets of insulation so I can wrap it.

Well, my buddy says he is going to bring in a K&N air filter (Round stley). He explained that I will need to remove the old filter, the box or housing that the old filter sits in and I also had to remove the tube down the fender (he said the tube and box should be one unit). Then all I have to do is place the new round K&N air flilter into the stock tube and let it sit there in the open......... Does this make any sence to anyone???? Is it good to have the air filter just left in the open like that?????
I can take and draw up a picture if anyone needs me to explain it better........... |
