Question NOS Question

I was wondering if the NOS St.1 Dry Kit requires a purge valve? And if anyone knows the legal issues of driving with Nitrous in Canada?

No kit requires a purge valve...
The nitrous in the bottle is liquid, when it comes out turns to gas...if it sits in the line for a while it turns to liquid again.
The liquid is not harmful to your motor but no performance gain.
Purging it just sprays it out so you have fresh in the line. Also looks very cool.
I use the 5115 kit w/ 75 jets and 100 jets.
The basic kit is all you need.
A bottle warmer is nice($100)
a blanket is nice too($35) both you only need when it's colder than about 70* out.
Remote bottle opener would be very convenient
But kinda pricey($165??)
You keep your bottle open and have an electronic switch to open it to the selonoids.Get it...you will love it

About driving in canada w/ it....i don't know
But just keep it covered.
A cop would have to be sarching your car to find it..and you must have done something to get in trouble anyway so?????

Thanks for the input so far.. So its one of those things, that if the money comes around, then sure its worth it, otherwise no biggie, and I won't have to worry about backfires or explosions then..
I figured, as long as I stay out of trouble I'd be okay, but never hurts to know what I can do to stay legal..

Yeah, i hear ya...
Keep your timing around 10-12* use premium,
And i would keep it under 100 hp most of the time. Definitely not 150 w/ stock inj. and fuel pump.
Other than that you'll be fine.
I HAVE a purge kit and haven't even put it on yet(too lazy i guess)
And there are a few states that are mandating that your system be disconeccted to travel on the roads.
Or bottle has to be out...Track use only, not sure who, i don't care i'll do it anyway.

The use of a purge valve it to get all the gas out of the line, you dont want gas, you want liquid in your lines, right up to the solenoid.

otherwise you want have full benefit of nitrous until 3 or 4 seconds intot he run

Actually nitrous is in liquid form in the bottle.
If you don't purge the line before you make a pass, the liquid turns into a gas, and is less potent.

I think it's good not to purge on street tires. The hit on the tires is more gradual.

Thanks for the info! So really a purge valve is not a safety thing, its just for getting the most out of the nitrous charge going into the engine. (Correct me if I'm wrong)
