Default new mods,fuel pressure setting?

Ok, i dont know if my sig is updated, but here is my new setup, car runs great, but it surges a little when i come to a stop, like it's finding a new idle, but it will smooth out as much as the e-cam will let it, so here it is:

ported gt-40 iron
E303-cam
1.7 rockers
stock ported intake
65mm tb
73 maf
stock 19 injectors
holley afpr
accell guage.

those are the newest mods anyway, it seems like the the car should be pulling harder, i have fp set at 40 psi with vac off, what would you guys recomend for optimum performance?? right now im gettin no smoke from the tailpipes, it seems to be running clean, oh yea, i havent upgraded the fuel pump yet.
thanx...

Nice you got some new mods, Your gonna have to play with it. Get a new fuel pump. Run 45psi and about 15-16deg timing see how it likes it.

Really, the only way to tell is to take it to the track and play with it. I started mine off this year at 40 and it went 107MPh I lowered it to 38 and it went 106MPH. But when I bumped it to 44 it went 109.22!! I would say a little more would probley benifit you more due to the fact that you have a stock fuel pump and injectors.

Hey Skyman. I am getting close to 110 trap speed!!!

Like ackbar said best way it to take to track or on dyno to see.

I'm in same boat right now. i have added afr 165, tfs stage 1 cam and long tube headers and i ran 105 with stock fuel pressure and timing at 14. i did add 24 lbs injectors and adjustable regulator and soon as i can get together $100 gonna set a date with the dyno.

I think the stock cobra intake might be holding it back at topend but will have to see on the dyno. car weighs maybe 3350 with me in it and according to analyzer i'm close to 300 hp. Is that at rear wheels it measures??

Thanx guys, good replies, i will be going to the track wed, if i get out of work, or friday.
It seems to run out of steam according to the stock tach, around 5500 (stock intake hurting), but it has alot more grunt than ever!

im deciding on intakes now, i guess thats another thread

i'll update on e.t.'s, i will have to get used to drag radials, all of my previous runs with stock motor been on e.t. streets, i'll be looking at mph i guess.....later.

can't wait to see your numbers, definatly ditch that stock intake, you cant go wrong with a cobra, edelbrock or explorer, the stock intake is more restrictive than the stock heads!
