Default rear main seal

I have an 88 vert with a 5.0 auto and the rear main seal leaks badly... i had it replaced 3 years ago when I had the trans redone and now it leaks again, is they anything that causes them to go bad... Maybe a screen that gets clogged... and trick to get them to last... I run regujlar oil and change it every 3k...
any help would be appresiated...

thanks

If you scratched the crank during install, or if didn't install it correctly.
