Fox/SN95 Hybrid?
A week or two ago someone posted a pic in the BOL of a fox body with an SN-95 front end, can anyone tell me how difficult this swap would be?
I'm assuming that the fenders/front clip wouldn't just bolt up, but how much actual body work would be involved in the swap? Thanks J I also included the picture, does anyone know the story behind it? |

I think that pic is a fake... ford DID build a few for testing.. have seen a notch with the sn-95 front... the prob is that the sn-95 is wider than the fox cars..

you could always cut out the diffrence from the centre but the other option is a thunderbird front end swap.
there were a few companies that made a kit to swap a tbird front end onto Fox cars. which look's similiar.

Bilster,
Yeah, now that you mention it , I remember an article a few years back about Tim Allens white Saleen, and one of the mods was a Tbird front end. Does anyone know of any companys still selling the Tbird swap kit? |

the yellow car is real. it was a muscle mustangs & fast ford cover car years ago. there is no way an average guy can do that work. it was done by a professional to say the least which i believe was done by the owner. looking at the mag right now.

The honda guys like to do that with an integra front end.
I would have never thought of doing that with a mustang but it does look pretty good

Man, that pic looks fake! But even if it is real, it would take too much work to be worth it. Now if someone put a 65 stang front end on a Fox, that would be the shiz. Like this.
Hehehe, okay I'm no artist, but it would look cool. By the way, thanks to whoevers pics those are. I got them off of mustangworks :-D

Mair use to advertise a tbird swap that looks almost identical to that pic how diffrent are the 95's from the tbird ?
as i said before theres not a real problem sectioning the centre of the bumper assenbily and re attaching it but you would need a good (motorcycle) repair shop for that . Motorcyclese deal alot more with the plasticy type stuff of repair. I thought of trying the tbird mod to cut down drag and be alittle diffrent.

I think it would be totally unique to have a fox with sn-95 or tbird front. Me personally, I love that "Casper" look (Tim Allen's Saleen fox with a t-bird front end.) It would be a lot of work though. ~Brian

I personally think that car looks terrible and you couldnt pay me to drive it. I think the idea of a tbird front end is repuslive as well. Really, it depends on what tbird it is. The mid 80's (see pic) wouldnt look all that bad. But the 90's tbird front would look terrible. The lines on the cars just dont match up. You have a round front end and a boxy rear. I give him 2 thumbs up for creativity, and effort, but I think it looks horrible. But hey, thats just my opinion.

The front end from an 88 T-bird is the best one to use in my opinion. Check it out. It's pretty darn close to the same width, because T-birds and cougars are basically stretched mustangs. Check out this pic, it'd be money on a mustang.
(thanks to www.coolcats.net for the pic)
