backfire
Has anyone used an e303 cam with a 650 holley on a 302,I have tried everything i can think of,it seems to run fine but the first crack of the throttle it will backfire out the carb,almost lost my eyebrows,lol,It has plenty of power higher rpms,It seems once the rpms come up its okay,I have my base timing at 12 degrese now and it idles okay, its when you crack the throttle fast that it backfires.any ideas would be appericated,thanks.

It sounds carb. related. I know it you keep backfiring it like that you're going to blow the power valve out...if you haven't already.
I would guess that it's either accelerator pump or shooter size related.

Thanks for reply,I had the firing order messed up,(my bad) I was only following orders from sumitt anyway it sounds good,Iam impressed with the end result,cant wait to try it on the track,Ford weekend is on july 20th here.
