Post electric fan questions - new alternator, how many? ect..

I have a few questions regarding electric fans.

First, is anyone running a electric fan without using a new alternator?

Second, is one 10" fan enough or do I need two?

I may have found a deal for two 10" electric fans for fairly cheap.

Ohhh, and are there two types of fans? Blower and Puller? What kind should I get for the stang?

I don't remember what size I used, but I pulled the radiator with the shroud attached, measured inside the shroud, purchased the biggest single fan that would fit inside the shroud. It gave a factory look with the original shroud still in place and the fan tucked inside. Now when I pull the radiator, it all comes out as one unit.

Did you mount it by zip ties? How did you mount it?

dude, fans draw like 30 amps. you're car will stall with the old alt. we got 2 from pa-performance.com, they are nicer than the gm 1-wire stuff from summit.

Dude, only way i would go is the, some will disagree, but the black magic fan for 5.0, it mounts with its own shroud, and mine doesnt draw off the alterator that bad at all.

I still have the same alternator the car came with, although no underdrive pullies, but also may have an upgraded alternetor, being i have an ex-dps car

you need a puller to work on the engine side of the radiator in a mustang... Good luck...
I have heard that the black magic fan was pretty good, I will be getting one soon as well!

I have a the black magic fan with pulleys. Have had the setup for a year. The only problem I could see, would be if you sit in a lot of traffic.I have no problems.
