Default Am I gauranted to break an axle and/or the T-5 if I launch on 150 shot of gas??

I still have to go get the motor tuned for nitrous but I'm thinking of putting in a button that I can hold down when I launch (interupting the nitrous system which consists of-arming switch-WOT switch-window switch,3000-6000) and let it go when I hit 2nd so it doesn't hit so hard with that tall 3.35 1st gear.

I'll be wearing MT E.T. Streets next time out and first time since tune so I don't know how hard it's going to launch? I expect to put at least 430hp to the wheels as the tuner says he can get a lot of the 150 shot to the wheels when he tunes it right? I hope!!
I'll run a couple of passes on motor first of course.

I drive to the track so It'll suck to have to call home and wait on a trailer but that's gonna happen sooner or later anyway right??

SO WHAT DO I DO????????

If you are ok with trailering it home, let er rip!! But I think with a sticky enough tire you are gonna be tempting the race gods at the track and it will only be a matter of when, not if. Let us know.

The tranny is probably fine but the stock axles are another story. I personaly wouldnt spray a 150 shot on slicks if I didnt trailer the car to the track.

Are ET streets considered a slick?
Would you be of the same opinion on hitting it 2nd?
Thanks
Wes

I wouldn't trust the stock axles, but I did the same thing with the stock T5 with no problems, however, I had the two step setup with the PMS and the wide open throttle button on for the NOS, so i launched around 5900rpm with the motor and about 1 second later, the NOS kicked in. Anyway, You're right, everyone breaks down eventually at the track so go for it, what are we out there for anyway, to race or to be careful.......note to self, it was a fun 10 second ride with the bottle....Good luck.

I'll probably run it all motor only first if we go before I get it tuned for nitrous.
I could go with a lower shot first, but the re-tune is $250 a pop, the switch on the chip has 4 selections so I could go w/3 different levels of nitrous, but at $250 a pop so I dunno maybe I'll start at 100??

Maybe I'll get axles first
