kinda feel dumb now
Today i solved my backfiring problem and I felt a little dumb,lol once I used the 302 ho firing order i was all set.I did call summit though and they gave me the wrong firing order for the cam i bought from them,not impressed,lol.

Glad to hear you straightened it out. Didn't a "Cam Card" come with the cam when you bought it?? It should have the correct firing order on it.
Vamp89, You do know that there are two firing orders?? [15426378] and [13726548]. The later is the 351W/302HO firing order. The 302 went to the 321W firing order when the GT came back with a 351W marine cam in it. That is why you can't always go by what the intake manifold has on it. The cam dictates the firing order.

yep, the 86+ or 85? 302 h.o. pretty much a 351 except for deck height and crank stroke....pistons probaly vary from flatops and domes and what not.
