Question Need some advice on Brakes!

I have just installed the ASP Manual Brake Adapter Plate and now have a serious decision to make.

Do I use the rod that came with the Kit and use the stock brake pedal OR
Do I use a break pedal and rod out of an earlier mustang?

For those of you who may not know, it would seem that the earlier pedal has the rod attachment closer to the pivot point on the brake pedal, so theoretically it should give me more leverage. But here is the problem; the late model pedal is actually LONGER so that should compensate for the rod being attached further from the pivot point.

Am I over analyzing this?...maybe, but the reason I am asking, is that anyone who has pulled a brake pedal out of a car will say it is a job they really only want to do ONE TIME ONLY! So I am looking to make the best choice.

Hopefully someone with actually experience will comment and let me know what they think.

Many thanks
James
