Default 511 and 543 codes.. help

I am getting these 2 codes. I just installed a 347 in my '94 and when I start it up the check engine light flashes but doesnt stay on. From what I have been told, the first code has to do with the chip that I have plugged into the computer. The second one I dont know about. It has to do with the 'fuel pump secondary circuit failure'. Anyone know what would be causing this and how I can check it?

jruppert,
I think you might be getting the second code because of the first code.

The Primary Fuel Circuit runs the fuel pump (for a second or two) when the key is turned on. You should be able to hear the pump (without starting the engine) and after about two seconds it should stop. This is to pressurize the fuel system.

The Secondary Fuel Circuit starts the fuel pump when you finally start the engine. Obviously, your fuel pump is working because the engine runs. Right?

It might be that because the EEC processor ROM test failed (code #511), it might not be able to determine that the Secondary Fuel Circuit is operating, so it spits out code #543!

For starters, I'd correct the problem accociated with your first code, and I'll bet it'll correct the second code too.

Don't forget to clear the "Continuous Memory" *After The Repair* because the second code (#543) is stored and will reappear if it's not cleared!

Thanks, and it does run. It seems to run fine. The check engine light was blinking when I started it up the first 5 or 6 times after installing the new engine. When I put the chip in my computer, the guy from where I bought it said that it may throw out a code. This chip was to run my E-303 cam but now I am not using that cam. I am using a trick flow stage 2 cam. It idles like a dream! Idles a hell of a lot better then the E cam did.
