Default Stalling Problem

My car has started stalling out when i push in the clutch coming to a stop. It doesn't do it all the time but it seems when i hit the clutch the rpms just fall right on out and the car stalls. It also has a erratic idle, it jumps back and forth between say 600 and 750. I am afraid to go too many places cause i don't want it to stall out like this, my car is almost impossible to turn without power steering. Anyone know whats up with this problem? thanks
