Default Suspension suggestions?

Wanting to beef up my suspension....Right now the only real decent suspension mod I have are my sway bars.

I am wondering what would be the best bang for the buck for ~600 bucks? Looking for better handling without hurting my 1/4 times.

Thanks,
DoranW

I would look into getting a set of lower control arm for your rear axle. This will stop axle hop when you take off. Next thing I would look into getting is a set of springs and caster/camber plates. Depending on what kind of driving you are going to do with your stang, they have different kinds of springs and setups. If you want to have awesome handling, I would drop your car about 2". If you want a good launch, then a drag setup would work out great. Keep this in mind, it's very hard to have both "setups" on your car. Your going to have to sacrafice something for something else. Also, you might wan't to get some chasis stiffing devices, such as sub frame connectors, strut tower braces (more for Auto-X, you don't need one for drag racing), etc.... Hope this helps you out

Hello,

Handling takes precedence over the drag strip stuff (as much as I hate to say it ).

Is 2" too much? I want to put on some 16s or 17s and I don't want to worry about rubbing. Also, can't forget the scraping, don't want that either...

Thanks,
DoranW

Default 2" is not too much

I have mine lowered 2", it's not that bad. The handling is great, but scraping is an issue. My car was lowered when I bought it, but if I were to do it again, I would only lower it 1 1/2". I have 16" ponies w/ 245/50/16 tires. They only rub when I turn the wheel all the way to either side. If you need some pictures to show you what 2" lowered looks like just shoot me a PM, Keith
