87 turbo coupe rearend,buy it?
hey guys need an opinion, just found an 87 turbo coupe rearend with disc brakes and 3.55's.I was considering installing it in my 87 mustang with 3.08's,that way skipping the gear swap installaion and gaining disc brakes at the same time, but had questions about aftermarket availability for it (axles,5-lug conversion, differential, etc.)since the rearend is slightly longer on each end. so what do guys think, should I buy it?

All depends on the price. If it were a hit to the f/e, I'd say forget it, but since we're talking the r/e. So let me get this right, you're going to be using it for parts, or are you going to be putting your current parts in it? Sorry if I'm a little confused.

I put a turbo coupe rear in my car and I love it. I haven't had any tire clearance probs yet and I'm running 245 50 16 on pony wheels. You'll need an adjustable proportioning valve to adjust for the discs, but that's no big deal.

My 88 tbird rear works just fine with 245 45 17's...you may even be able to use sn95 axles if you want 5 lug or aftermarket axles in the future...they are 3/4 inch longer vs. 5/8 inch longer for the t bird axles. Don't quote me though!
