GT 40 Intake - Happy with yours?
I'm considering a GT-40 intake. My 90 5.0 is basically stock and read where this was a good intake for mid range torque. Please let me know if you have one and how you like it. Good time to get a new throttle body too? If so, what size? 70mm? Headers will come next. thanks.

Re: GT 40 Intake - Happy with yours?
It won't beef up mid-range quite as much as it will beef up from the mid range up to redline. The very best intake for low-mid range is a ported stock lower intake, but I know that is not what you're looking for. You won't be sorry you chose the GT40.
For some info on both ported stock and GT40 style intakes visit my porting website (see sig) and look around when you have time. Don't miss the photo section as there are many dyno results of combos there to see.

Re: GT 40 Intake - Happy with yours?
98 Explorer (I think) intake... cheap at a Junk Yard and just below the GT40 and Cobra Intakes CFM. There is one vacuum line to cap off (I ended up using mine cause I lack the stock vacuum tree), and you gotta install the sensor somewhere else... via tapping the intake or the filter intake.
Doesn't look as cool, but it's a heck of a lot cheaper $$$$$$$ You know what- I just remembered it won't fit a stock hood either, so if that's what you have then nevermind!

I made 301RWHP and 330RWTQ with a ported explorer lower intake and a stock cobra upper.
I am happy with mine.
