Post did not pass smog in CALI

help my friend did not pass smog in In california what can we do the Help it pass...

it only has a TB headers and a rebuilt 302... HELP!!!!!!!

well i'm going throught he same thing.
Try some "guranteed to pass" from the auto store.
It's by the octane booster.
Put timing on 8*
Get the car REALLY hot. the hotter the better.
Use premium also.
That should do it.
Did you do any tune-up??? new plug wires and cap/rotor?
You want to burn as clean as possible.

Premium? I think that would create more deposits given that it won't burn as fully.

But, make sure the car is hot, and let it sit for as little as possible before getting tested (ie, try to drive straight into the inspection bay w/o waiting to keep the cats hot). If that doesn't work, try new plugs, cap, rotor and 02 sensors.

finally, to gurantee a pass, pull an injector.

We need to know what failed and by how much to really make a determination as to what to fix. NOx is different than HC and CO.

Pull the timing way back, drive the car on the highway for about 20 min. to get it hot, and replace the plugs, cap, and roter
