Post TFS TW Heads & what do I need with them?

Ok I will be getting TFS TW Heads & A Holley Intake. What do I need for it to work well. I was Thinking 75MM TB, 30lbs Accel Injectors to go with my DFI. Rocker Arms 1.6 Is that the right ones? Do I need new Valve covers? Can I use the stock cam I will not have the $$$ right now for it. O I have a 255 fuel Pump and will get a regulator for it soon. Thanks Guys!

DFI? I hope you ment EFI. 70mm TB is more than enough. 24lb injectors are more than enough. You'll need TFS pushrods and 1.6 rockers. You can use the stock valve covers and the stock cam if you want. Good luck, sounds like a good combo.

TFS heads d oneed new pushrod lenghths. 30 lb injectorss are too big with a stock cam. DFI could make it work with a tune/reprogram. The stock rocker arms will probably fit under stock valve covers, if noyt you should go to tall aluminum, if possible.

Skyman Accel DFI THAT is right They Now make a kit for the mustang The reason I would like the 30lb Is I will be Haveing the heads and Intake ported some time. Well I gess I will need a new Cam for the 30LB in jectors Should I get 26lb ones maybe? With the DFI I need not have Mass air, That why I am getting it. I will get rid of my steel mounts.

Cool. DFI it is then. Just dont usually see it on mild setups like this. Anyways 70mm TB, 24lb injectors. You got everyting else right. YOu cant use the stock rockers by the way.

30#'ers will be ok...you will just have to lean it out a bit. 75mm TB....GOOD GOD NO. A 255 lph pump will be MOOOORE than enough. You definately need a regulator, or else you will drown out your car, and smell like Texaco when you go out on dates You will need a different cam eventually too.

jwboner You can't use stock RR's with TW's. I originally used FRPP 1.6rr's, but had to do some grinding on my valve covers.

I also use 6.75" pushrods, but you need to check yours yourself.

Good Luck

You might not be able to use your stock valve covers. I just put a set of TFS Twisted Wedge heads on a 94 5.0 and the valve covers didn't fit. You might need to get a 3/8" phenolic spacer and if you do that, you might need to lenghten your egr tube that connects off of your passenger side header.

1.6 rockers are the correct ones. The 1.72 were too big for my car. I have a 190lph fuel pump with 24lbs injectors which seems to be good for my combo. What year stang do you have?

I would not run with the stock cam. Unless of course you are doing all the work yourself. It costs too much to put one in at a later time. It will be much cheaper to replace it now.

what I ran into with TFS stud mount heads. (pedestals are no longer produced anyway...) New tall valve covers to clear the rockers. Now the upper intake and the throttle linkage hit the valve covers. I bought a 1" intake spacer. Crap!!! now I need a cowl hood because the engine is too tall!

I use stock(Saleen) Valve Covers. All I had to do was grind off the walls inside the valve covers where the baffle screws in. Then I also had to grind off some of the pillars inside, and now they fit just fine. Cheap fix.

Dustin, do you have stud mount heads or the pedestals?

My friends 91 notch runs great with the stock cam. It is an unstripped car with stock TFS heads, Cobra intake, 24 lb injectors, equal length headers, H- 2 1/2 cat back, 65 mm tb, pulleys and a cold air kit. It is also a T-5 car with 3.73's.

He runs consistent 12.50's @ 108 on worn slicks and 12.9-13.0's on a 235/15 drag radial on 10 hole phone dials all around.

His stock cammed car runs damn strong.
