Goodbye Dale....
Just wanted to make a post in respect to Dale Earnhardt and his family and friends.
He was a great driver, even though he wasn't my favorite, he was very well respected by me as a driver and person. My thoughts and prayers are with The Earnhardt family. ------------------ Dustin 1993 Cobra #1926 Bassani Full lengths,Bassani short X-pipe, American thunder Cat back, 3.55's. More to come... It was in deed a sad day in motorsports. The sad thing is that it didn't appear to be as bad as the accident that occured earlier in the race- and all those involved walked away from it. He and his family will be in my prayers.

I never frequently watched NASCAR racing, but I always knew who Dale Earnhardt Sr. was and what car he drove. It always hits me hard when someone from the world of racing loses their life particularly because I was brought up in a family that's always been obsessed with speed. It really makes you stop and think about life. This is truly a sad day and I won't forget about this anytime soon. The same thing happened to me when Greg Moore passed away after his horrific crash in October of '99. It stuck with me for many months afterwards and it really makes me aware of what speed can do to even the best of drivers.
My thoughts and prayers are with the Earnhardt family. He will truly be missed. Jeff* |

This certainly is a very very sad day. I also didn't watch much NASCAR but certainly knew who Dale Earnhardt was. Even though I'm sure he was not ready to die, at least he died doing the one thing he's loved his whole life. Me he Rest In Peace.

Drag racing is my motorsport of choice but I do watch the occasional NASCAR race and I did watch the race yesterday. Never would have thought from watching it that this crash would have killed him, especially after everyone pretty much walk away from the incredable violent wreck earlier in the race. He was a true icon of the sport and much like John Force in the NHRA, was one of those that even if you never had seen a NASCAR race in your life, just a mention the name and you know who they are and he will be sorely missed. Rest in peace Dale.

He was the best at what he did, and passed away doing what he loved to do.
My condolences to the Earnhardt family, Dale will be dearly missed by his fans and all of NASCAR. Thanks for the great ride #3. |

This may be a little late but... When you think of Nascar, you would always think of him, and vise-versa. That was a sad day for all of us, even if we weren't so much fans... We all in some way had a connection with him, he loved what he did, which was driving his car. We love our cars in much the same way. He will be missed... the least we can say is that his legacy will live on in junior. Thanks for racing Dale! You brought a spirit to motorsports that inspires us all!
Rest in Peace #3! |
