Default Report time

I fired it up yesterday, it sounds real good. Today I finished all the bull. Fired it up, went fill it up and went out joy riding. It pulls nice. The street tires are gone, 275/60/15 Grand Spirits. New ones going on tommorrow. I went to the track tonight. Missed 2nd first pass,1.93 60ft 13.44 @108.25 next pass 1.87 60ft 13.73 @ 109.38 missed third. next pass 1.988 60ft 12.95 @ 110.74 granny shifted 2nd and 3rd. Next pass put the old 26" hoosiers on 1.61 60ft 13.19 @ 108.97 missed 2nd. next 1.63 13.22 @ 109.20 missed 2nd. next 1.67 60ft 12.61 @ 110.03 grannyed 2nd and 3rd. then I let my buddy drive, 1.74 60ft 12.811 @ 108.25 he missed 2nd. This tranny, a 3550 that came out of the 89lx I bought will be removed and torn down in the morning. I do not drive that bad something is wrong. With the 110 mph I should have seen 12.0s or 11.90s. But the little motor is solid and will only get better. This is a stock bottom with new bearings, the holly systemax kit, but a tfs stage 1 cam. Speed density and 19lb injectors.

Sorry to hear about the tranny acting up, but glad to see your back on. I haven't noticed any posts from you in a while.

lol i sounds like i was driving the car, im 15 and i have drove sticks alot, like sence i was 10, but it was just a work truck that i drove around in 1st to hall stuff like wood or move trailers. But when i was 13 i bought a bronco and build it up for off roading. When i when to mud bogs i would miss gears and or hit reverse tring to shift fast. So i put a C4 in it and smoked it twice. So now i have a C6 with a shift kit and transbrake and with a 3700RPM stall converter. So now i just snap Driveshafts and axles. But last year i bought my 1969 bronco and it has a 428 Corba Jet with a Stick 4 speed. So now i have got alot better.

Bad tranny or too many brews? Just kidding. I think you should be way down into the 12's on that mph. I really believe you're there anyways on a good run.

The tranny is going to the shop in the morning. Local guy, he runs low nines, uses a tremac and owns a tranny shop. And said he'll wait on payment till I make a night of happy shifting. I shall be sending my old original 3550 for the build. It hurts to know that I can build the tranny but don't know how to make it shift flawlesly. But it will be money well spent.

I know a bad shift always hurts me at least 1/2 second.

Whats bad is that every thing is the same, cept the motor and tranny. And the motor is stronger 111 vs 108-109 And I have run 11.90s @ 109

I also fired motor today almost same set up as 88workcar's but I have AFR 165's And a typhoon intake and long tube headers and H-pipe (all of which I got off E-bay so...) same cam as him TFS #1 but I did go to mass air w/24# squirters, 73mm C&L.

So I have a MASSIVE exhaust leak at the headers and H-pipe they looked to be in good shape but the flanges on the pipe were bent so I figured somone had trouble getting them to seal and sure enough even with a few washers in front of the bolts they both leak really BAD. The ball and socket look to be meeting up good and square but they are tight I may have bent the flanges more.
Any suggestions? I have no exp. w/ L-tubes but the ball and socket on my shorties never leaked. Is there some kind of seal or gasket that should be in there? Can a muffler shop help me, I know a guy I trust that owns one. They are supposed to be MAC pieces but I can't tell.
Thanks guys
Wes
