Post 1 3/4 Hooker Long Tubes vs Shorties results!

Unfortunately my results are inconclusive as I lost oil pressure on my first run. The engine did not seeze and I did not hear anything wrong but I saw the oil pressure gauge at zero at the turnaround. In any case here are my 1 3/4" ported Hooker long tube times verses my ported Mac shorties times. Although I have ran a 10.657 with the shorties I used almost same 60' times for my comparison to make things equal.

Hooker Longtubes
60' = 1.502
1/8 = 6.777 @ 100.17 mph
1/4 = 10.781 @ 120.42 mph

Ported Shorties
60' 1.494
1/8 = 6.810 @ 110.17 mph
1/4 = 10.788 @ 121.97

Better? Worse? I don't know but certainly not worth the expense and time installing. It is a long way from my best 123.02 mph run with the shorties too.

What a disappointing night!

Here's what I have:
88 347 n/a,ASP race underdrive,Pro-M 77 MAF w/30# injectors and ASP extra long air filter/adaptor,190 fuel pump,Ported Box upper with ported Cobra lower,CNC and ported Twisted wedge heads(9.9:1cr),Comp Cams 224/230 @ .050 w/.550 lift,stock block, ASP steel solid motor mounts,Hoosier slicks,Lakewood 90/10,Eibach drag springs,3.27 gear,C-4 with reverse manual valve body,#6 pump PI converter,Crane HI-6,2420#race weight

93CobraR,

Actually, the sound was not much different than the shorties. I had open pipe on the shorties too.

I found the oil pump shaft broken. I reinstalled my stock shaft and by wrenching the oil pump is frozen solid. I have a Ford Motorsport high volume pump.
